Three matters, described in brief
Challenge
A retired couple, one Thai and one foreign national, held a condominium and several bank accounts. They had no wills and were uncertain how Thai law would treat their assets if one or both died.
Approach
Two separate wills were drafted — one for each spouse — with clear provisions covering the Thai assets. The foreign spouse also received guidance on coordinating with advisors in their home country for foreign assets.
Outcome
Both documents were signed and stored within three weeks. The couple described the process as straightforward and said they felt considerably less anxious about the future. Annual review reminders were arranged.
Challenge
Three adult children needed to settle their late father's estate. He had left a will, but it was handwritten and its validity under Thai law was questioned by one of the siblings.
Approach
The will was reviewed against the formal requirements for holographic wills under the Thai Civil and Commercial Code. Phinai confirmed its validity, prepared the probate application, and represented the family at court.
Outcome
The probate process was completed in approximately four months. All three siblings received clear explanations at each stage, and the distribution was finalised without dispute. The family described the experience as a relief during a difficult period.
Challenge

A thorough review identified four provisions that needed updating. A new document was drafted reflecting the current situation, with a Wishes Summary provided alongside for the client's own reference.
Outcome
The updated will was signed within two weeks. The client noted that the summary document was particularly helpful — they kept it with their personal papers so the family would understand the intentions without needing to interpret legal wording.
